You’ve got your oval balls, your round balls, your pock-marked balls and your big balls (for throwing through a hoop of course!). Yep, we’re talking about sport and I think it’s fair to say that in the South West of England, we’re sports mad. In fact, at Burts it’s been known for the peelers to take on the slicers at the drop of a hat with nothing more than spare potato. And don’t get me started on the par-boilers! And as for that seasoning lot, let’s just say that when they go in for a tackle, things can get a bit spicy.
Anyway, whether you’re competing on the field of play or cheering from the sidelines, nothing beats the thrill of a hard-fought victory – planned for, sweated for and battled for. Let’s face it, if you want to win, you’ve got to be Doing It Right. Which is why Burts are only too happy to support our local teams.
For the 2016/17 season we’ve got the cheque book out to sponsor a range of teams and players in football, rugby union, basketball, golf and motor racing. Here’s the line-up:
We’re delighted to once again pursue our hoop dreams with the up and coming, Plymouth Raiders who’ll be sporting Burts branding on their court and on designated kits. We’re also backing, Cory Dixon tipped to become their Most Valuable Player and there’ll be lots of opportunities for fans to meet him.
Come on Green Army! Burts has signed on the dotted line as PAFC’s Official Snack Partner and we’ll be the exclusive crisp supplier at the legendary Home Park. We’re also sponsoring defender Gary Miller, whose home shirt will proudly bear Burts’ logo. This year, we’ll be donating match-day tickets, presented by Gary to a local school or charity.
Wow, what a season they had last year. They just get better and better don’t they? Burts are back on board this year serving up delicious snacks for the team and the fans at the Sandy Park Stadium. As well as the club, Burts are sponsoring Scottish international prop, Moray Low so fingers crossed for some devastating forward play from the front eight. Keep your eyes peeled for free tickets, competitions and give-aways through the season.
Following a successful 2015 partnership, Burts is zooming back to the British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) for the 2016-2017 season as one of the official sponsors of the Motorbase Performance squad.
Rising golf star, James Allen made his debut on the European Tour this year and Burts are proud to back his prestigious talent. He’ll be wearing the Burts logo on his shirt and hat.
Of course sport is played at all levels from professional to amateur to hobbyist. It’s the participation that counts. That’s why we are delighted to be the official shirt sponsor to Kingsbridge Rugby Club Of course, there’s a touch of nostalgia here, as Burts was first made in Kingsbridge, and we’re excited to bring things full circle and support this local team.
And not to forget, we’ve already sponsored the gran Fondo cycle race!
Simon Knight, our sales and marketing director at Burts Chips, comments: “We are yet again delighted to announce our sponsorship agreements with all of our sporting partners for the 2016-2017 season. Crisps have always been an essential snack for spectator and sporting fans, so Burts are excited to continue to serve our delicious snacks throughout all of the stadiums.”
