Burts Bacon Manhattan


  • 1 pack of spoiltpig Smoked Streaky Bacon
  • 50ml 4 Day bacon infused bourbon
  • 10ml Sweet vermouth
  • 5ml Dry vermouth
  • 2 Dash angostura bitters
  • 5ml Cherry syrup from jar


  1. Combine all ingredients
  2. Stir with ice until ice-cold and strain into chilled rocks glass
  3. Garnish with stick of crispy spoiltpig smoked streaky bacon

Bacon bourbon instructions:

  1. Fry 6 rashers of streaky bacon until crispy (save these for garnishes)
  2. Strain all of the fat form the frying pan, bits and all, into a bottle of bourbon
  3. This bottle now needs to be stored for three days, shaking when possible to agitate the fat
  4. On the fourth day, freeze the bourbon
  5. Once the fat is completely frozen, use a coffee filter to strain the bourbon through
  6. Collect this bourbon in a clean bottle

Tasting Notes: Strong bacon aroma, mellowed with the sweetness of the vermouth and strong flavours of bourbon. Cherry sweetness comes through on the finish.
