Plymouth-based artisan crisp producer, Burts Chips, is strengthening its ‘Better For You’ range with the launch of its new lighter snack, Quinoa Crinkles.
Launching in January 2017, these healthy, crunchy snacks reinforce the brand’s key messages of innovation and uncompromising flavour. Quinoa Crinkles are available to buy in a case containing 16 packets of 20g bags.
With less than 90 calories per packet, Quinoa Crinkles come in two enticing flavour varieties – Sweet Pepper & Chorizo and West Country Cream Cheese. Burts Chips uses ingredients with strong provenance credentials to reflect its Devonshire heritage, such as high-quality chorizo from local manufacturer the Good Game Company. The new healthy product range is bursting with Burts’ traditionally bold flavour in a quirky quinoa based snack.
As with the existing core range, each batch of Quinoa Crinkles is carefully cooked in Burts’ South West kitchen and taste just as moreish. Seasoned with natural flavours, the Crinkles feature 45% less fat , are gluten free and a source of fibre. The whole Quinoa Crinkles range, as with all Burts Chips products, is free from MSG, artificial flavourings, and colourings.
This latest addition to the portfolio follows the success of Burts’ Lentil Waves range, providing consumers with an alternative, lighter snack solution to kick off the new year. Since launching in 2014, Burts’ Lentil Waves range has reported +74% sales growth year on year and is currently the fastest growing ‘Better For You’ snack in the market.

The launch is being supported by sampling activity and point of sale material, as well as being part of a wide-scale integrated marketing campaign that includes PR, events and social media.
